Client Complaint Policy

At Rivertown School of Beauty, Barber, Skin Care & Nails, we strive to provide every client with quality, professional barbering services performed under the supervision of licensed instructors. If a client is dissatisfied with a service, we are committed to addressing the concern promptly and fairly. To ensure consistency and proper documentation, the following procedures must be followed.

1. Reporting a Complaint

Clients must report any dissatisfaction before leaving the school or within three (3) business days of receiving the service.
Complaints reported after the three-day period may not be eligible for correction services.

2. No Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued for barbering services or monies paid.
Corrections or adjustments may be offered in accordance with this policy.

3. Service Verification

The original service must be documented in the school system and show proof of payment.
Only services performed at Rivertown School of Beauty, Barber, Skin Care & Nails are eligible for review.

4. Complaint Consultation Procedure

Contact the Instructor supervising the Barber program at the time of the service.
Schedule a consultation appointment to review the complaint.
The Instructor will assess the service performed, determine the cause of the issue, decide whether a correction service is appropriate, and assign a student to perform the correction under supervision.

5. Chemical and Specialty Services

For chemical services such as relaxers, color, texturizers, or permanent waves, if irritation, burning, or discomfort occurs due to client-related factors, such as scratching, scalp conditions, or previous chemical use not disclosed, the service must still be paid for, and the client must return at a time deemed appropriate by the Instructor.
We do not guarantee results for extremely coarse or resistant hair, previously damaged or over-processed hair, or styles requiring excessive maintenance or unrealistic expectations.

6. Limitations and Surcharges

A $10.00 surcharge may apply if the issue is due to factors outside the school's control, including weather conditions, hair texture or growth patterns, client aftercare or failure to follow instructions, and pre-existing hair or scalp conditions.

7. Correction Services

Correction services are performed one time only and must be scheduled during regular clinic hours.
Corrections will be performed by a student selected by the Instructor.
Clients must follow all aftercare instructions provided by the Instructor to ensure the best results.

8. Instructor Authority

The supervising Instructor has full authority to determine whether a complaint is valid, whether a surcharge applies, and whether the service outcome was affected by client behavior or hair condition.

9. Professional Conduct

Clients and students must maintain respectful communication throughout the complaint process.
Any inappropriate behavior may result in refusal of future services.

Rivertown School of Beauty, Barber, Skin Care & Nails is committed to providing quality pedicure and nail services performed by students under licensed instructor supervision. If a client is dissatisfied with a pedicure or nail service, the following policy outlines the proper procedure for addressing concerns.

1. Reporting a Complaint

Clients must report dissatisfaction before leaving school or within three (3) business days of receiving the service.
Complaints reported after the three (3) day period may not qualify for correction services.

2. General Conditions

No refunds are issued for any services or monies paid.
The original service must be documented in our system and show as paid in full.
All correction services are performed by students and only after consultation with the supervising Nail Instructor.

3. Situations Not Eligible for Free Correction

The following conditions fall outside the school’s responsibility and may require a $10.00 surcharge or full repayment.
Damage caused by client activity, including smudging, chipping, lifting, or breaking after leaving school.
Issues caused by improper aftercare, such as exposure to water, chemicals, or friction.
Weather-related issues, including humidity, rain, or extreme temperatures.
Pre-existing nail conditions, including thin, brittle, peeling, fungal, or medically compromised nails.
Services performed on nails with contraindications disclosed after the service.
Requests for changes in color, shape, length, or style preference rather than correction of a service error.

4. Chemical or Product-Related Sensitivity

If irritation occurs due to guest sensitivities, including burning, itching, or allergic reactions, the service must still be paid for, as sensitivities are not caused by improper procedure.
The client must return at a time deemed appropriate by the Instructor for safe removal or correction.
The school may decline to reapply certain products if they pose a risk to the client.

5. Service Limitations

For safety and educational reasons, the school does not guarantee gel polish longevity on extremely short, damaged, or flexible nails.
The school does not guarantee acrylic or gel enhancements on nails with structural weakness.
The school does not guarantee callus removal beyond what is safe and State Board compliant.
Pedicure results affected by medical conditions, including diabetes, circulatory issues, fungal infections, and similar concerns, are not guaranteed.

6. Resolution Process

After evaluation, the instructor may determine that a corrective service will be performed at no additional charge.
A modified service may be more appropriate.
No corrective service may be warranted based on the findings.
All decisions are made by the supervising instructor and/or school administration and are final.

7. Professional Conduct

Clients and students are expected to maintain respectful communication throughout the complaint process.
Any inappropriate behavior may result in refusal of service.

We want you to be happy with the service you receive at Rivertown School of Beauty, Barber, Skin Care & Nails. If you are not happy with your service, the following procedure must be used in order to satisfy your needs.

1. Reporting a Complaint

If you are not happy with your service, you must let us know before you leave the school or within a three (3) business day period of your service being done.

2. Refunds and Verification

We do not give refunds on monies paid.
The first service must be on record showing it was paid.

3. Complaint Consultation Procedure

Contact the Instructor in charge of the class you attended upon receiving the service and schedule an appointment for consultation of the complaint.

4. Chemical Services

If a chemical service is not satisfactory at the time of being done for reasons such as itching or burning due to irritations caused by the patron, the service must still be paid for and you must return when the Instructor states that it will be convenient to provide said service.

5. Limitations and Surcharges

We do not guarantee perms in extremely long hair with a weight factor that needs cutting, or temporary styles.
A $10.00 surcharge will apply if fault of said service is due to circumstances beyond school limits, such as weather, hair condition, or hair texture.

Rivertown School of Beauty, Barber, Skin Care & Nails is committed to providing safe, professional, and high-quality esthetic services performed by students under licensed instructor supervision. If a client is dissatisfied with a service, the following policy outlines the proper procedure for reporting and resolving concerns.

1. General Expectations

All esthetic services are performed by students for training purposes.
Clients must understand that results may vary based on skin type, home care, contraindications, and the educational nature of the environment.
No refunds are issued for services or products.

2. Timeframe for Reporting a Complaint

Complaints must be reported before leaving the school on the day of service, or within three (3) business days of the service being performed.
Complaints submitted after this timeframe may not be eligible for corrective services.

3. Required Documentation

The original service must be recorded in the school’s system and show proof of payment.

4. How to File a Complaint

Notify the supervising Esthetics Instructor of the concern.
Schedule a consultation appointment for evaluation of the issue.
Attend the consultation so the instructor can assess the skin, review the service performed, and determine whether a corrective service is appropriate.

5. Conditions Affecting Corrective Services

Corrective services may be denied or limited if the client did not follow pre-care or post-care instructions, such as exfoliating after waxing, using contraindicated products, or sun exposure after chemical exfoliation.
Corrective services may be denied or limited if the concern is related to normal skin reactions, such as temporary redness, sensitivity, or mild irritation.
Corrective services may be denied or limited if the issue results from client-provided information being incomplete or inaccurate, including undisclosed allergies, medications, or contraindications.
Corrective services may be denied or limited if the service requested is inherently unpredictable, such as lash tint longevity varying by hair growth cycle or extractions depending on skin condition.
Corrective services may be denied or limited if the client altered the results at home, such as picking, peeling, using harsh products, or applying makeup too soon.

6. Waxing Services

The school does not guarantee results on clients using medications or products that increase sensitivity, such as retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs.
The school does not guarantee results on clients with extremely coarse, fine, or sparse hair.
The school does not guarantee longevity of hair removal, as growth cycles vary.
A $10 surcharge may apply if the issue is due to factors outside the school’s control, such as hair growth patterns, skin sensitivity, weather-related sweating, or client aftercare.
